zdm.energetics.vector_diff_gamma(Eth, *params)[source]

Differential gamma-function luminosity function.

Computes dN/dE normalized such that the integral from Emin to infinity equals 1. This is the probability density of burst energies.

Parameters:
  • Eth (ndarray) – Energy values in erg at which to evaluate.

  • *params (tuple) – (Emin, Emax, gamma) - minimum energy, characteristic energy, shape parameter.

Returns:

Probability density dN/dE at each energy. Returns 0 for E < Emin.

Return type:

ndarray
